E-Commerce website launch for Home Life Collection

2015 is going to be an exciting year with the launch of Home Life Collection, an e-commerce website positioned as a luxury brand for the home furnishing market. It should prove inspiring for interior designers working on hotel interiors, as-well as for the home consumer who can exclusively purchase these items that have not been available to them easily until now. We will update you further on this when we are live!

Previous and current projects

Gainsbrough Spa

 The Gainsborough Hotel in Bath

Due to open this Summer, The Gainsborough Hotel will be the first and only hotel to offer a natural, thermal spa in the UK.

HLC supplied the reception cabinet in the spa, which will stand proud in the middle of the waiting room. Made to the designer’s drawing, this highly customised cabinet comprises dovetail joints, concealed castors and soft drawer closures, as well as a toughened glass top, discreet magnetic locks on cupboard doors and an ebonised oak finish.

We also produced the glass shelving unit in the spa. This large piece (W3000mm x H2500mm) has a frame of black powder-coated steel with low, iron, colourless glass shelves, and ebonised oak drawer units with oil-rubbed bronze handles.

HLC also supplied the bathrooms with full length mirrors for the back of the doors and vanity mirrors.

Oakley Hall Hotel in Hampshire

This beautiful historic hotel has morphed from a nursing home into a boarding school, was recently used for conferences and five years ago became a hotel. It underwent a full refurbishment in 2014, and HLC were very pleased to produce the mirrors above the desks in the bedrooms and the full length mirrors and the artwork in all 50 bedrooms and public areas including corridors, restaurant and bar lounge suite. We supplied the sculptural accessories that feature throughout the hotel on public area console tables and corridor walls.

We think the stone relief with an abstract geometrical pattern suits the bar area perfectly. A collection of fantastic photography was curated for the restaurant and a jesmonite relief was made in the buffet area, to add texture and contrast with the framed artwork.

Hilton Hyde Park

Hilton Hyde Park Hotel

20,000 goose sword feathers were individually sprayed a beautiful antique brass gold, giving them an aged effect that was both subtle and reflective of the class of Hilton’s flagship hotel in London.

This was a large undertaking, but their prime position above the headboard, mounted as a triptych, meant they really had to be special. A high-resolution photograph of falling feathers was commissioned for the backdrop, printed on high quality Somerset acid-free paper. A simple white gloss frame finished the piece as a contemporary yet timeless piece of art.

The bathroom artwork featured purple hues from a painting originally painted onto glass. We created graphic reflections for the corridor artwork, merging art and mirror to create two Art Deco mirror designs which featured throughout. These added a touch of old glamour, and give guests a hint towards the sumptuous style within the guest rooms. The finish chosen was an antique brass effect metallic paint.

Gotham Hotel Manchester

Hotel Gotham, King Street Manchester

These mirrors were not just functional; at the Hotel Gotham we really illustrated the art of decorating with mirrors.

Positioned over the desk as a vanity mirror, the proportions of the room were accentuated by this clever mirror design work. The metal chain which seems to be attached to either side of the mirror is actually safely attached to a slim bracket fitted to the rear of the mirror, in order to better carry the weight of the glass. Straight lines provide a pleasing contrast with the circular shape, and the antique brass effect finish proved an enduring trend of last year.

Hilton Antwerp

Hilton Antwerp Hotel, Old Town

HLC suggested the use of reliefs in the reception area at this Hilton Hotel. The shadows of our relief designs, with their repeated formations, cast an aura of elegant, gentle formality under the spotlights at the welcome desks.

HLC can supply a range of products, including; hotel artwork, bespoke mirrors, soft furnishings (throws, bedsoks and cushions), lighting and various other products that fit within the FF&E spectrum.
